About Us

In March 2000, the "Stiftung Schloss und Park Benrath" (Benrath Palace and Park Foundation) was established, a foundation under private law based in the state capital of Düsseldorf. In addition to the state capital Düsseldorf, the founding donors include Henkel AG, the patron Udo van Meeteren, the Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf and the "Vereinigung Freunde Schloss und Park Benrath e.V.". The state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Siemens AG and the Rhineland Regional Association are also donors.

The Palace and Park Foundation

The primary goal of the foundation is to preserve the palace and park as a total work of art, to use them in a manner appropriate to their status as monuments, and to make them accessible to the public and highlight them as a cultural attraction.

All three goals are realized through the operation and use of the buildings with the three museums as well as the park, whose diversity offers visitors a wide range of exhibitions, collections, lectures, guided tours, seminars and events.

Conveying the history and significance of the palace and park in an attractive way, while at the same time treating the historic buildings and park with respect and in accordance with the preservation order, requires a high degree of responsibility for the environment and society.
